NANOMETRICS / BIO-RAD / ACCENT QS-408 spectrometer is an integrated spectrometer that combines advanced signal processing, data analysis, automatic measurement programming, and a wide range of optical components into a single instrument. It combines Quadrant Photoacoustic Spectroscopy (QPS), Infrared Reflection Absorption Spectroscopy (IRRAS), Ultraviolet-Visible Spectroscopy (UV-VIS) and Raman Spectroscopy into one platform. The QPS section of ACCENT QS-408 uses a tunable laser, which is the combined power of an acousto-optic modulator (AOM) and a laser diode. The amount of power is adjustable by up to 4 orders of magnitude in order to achieve the desired spectral resolution. It also can be used for quantitative and/or qualitative analysis with the signal being completely free of sample effects. BIO-RAD QS 408 also has an IRRAS section which is designed to measure molecular vibrational transitions in the mid-infrared region. This section has a smart light tuning system which can accurately target the laser wavelength to the exact vibrational transition between two molecules. This feature is useful when measuring samples with complex molecular structures. The UV-VIS section of NANOMETRICS QS 408 has a wide spectral coverage (200-800nm) and can even extend beyond 800nm to detect up to the near infrared range. It has a fast scanning speed, which ensures fast and reliable acquisition of large UV-Vis spectra. NANOMETRICS QS-408 also has a high sensitivity, which is important for trace elemental and molecular detection. Finally, NANOMETRICS / BIO-RAD / ACCENT QS 408 has an incorporated Raman spectrometer which can be used for mapping of molecules in the 8-1350 cm-1 range.
