SINGULUS / STANGL Silex wet station is a specialized wet processing equipment designed for use in the production of photovoltaic (PV) cells and modules. The station is composed of several modules connected through a central electronics controller, which allows each part to be individually programmed for optimal performance. It is composed of several parts, including an immersion tank, a heating unit, a cooling unit, and a rinsing system. The first stage of the process involves immersing the PV cells into the immersion tank, where they are etched in an etchant solution to remove the back-side contact metal layer. During this process, the temperature of the solution is maintained at the optimal level to ensure the desired etching results. After etching, the cells are transferred to the heating unit where they are dried out, and then to the cooling unit, where the cells are cooled before being passed onto the rinsing unit. Here, the cells are rinsed with deionized water to remove any residual etchant solution and pressurized air is applied to prevent water droplets from forming and crystallizing on the cells. Finally, the cells are passed through a drying machine to remove any remaining water droplets.
